An effective coronavirus vaccine is the Holy Grail of our time, and yet, a new survey shows that less and less people will be willing to get vaccinated when and if that finally becomes a possibility.
The survey focuses on race and ethnicity, which provides for some interesting insights regarding healthcare and patient communication. Still, what might be the most striking takeaway is that a significant percentage of Americans of all races are less hopeful and trusting of a coronavirus vaccine than they were when they responded to a survey in August.
This means that pharma companies and government and health organizations will have to work harder to inform and educate the public about a coronavirus vaccine, now and when it finally arrives on the market. This task is made even more daunting by the fact that, in addition to not trusting the safety or effectiveness of a vaccine, a significant number of people polled are also skeptical about information shared in the media, on social networks, and even from doctors and nurses.
