Cancer charities come together for the 20 for 20 Challenge

The impact of COVID-19 has been disastrous in many ways, including on the research, treatment, and diagnoses of many other health conditions.
For instance, in the UK alone, it’s estimated that there have been at least 35,000 cancer-related deaths, and that there are currently 55,000 patients waiting to have important checks – numbers that would be very different if funding and facilities weren’t focused on the pandemic.
In partnership with Takeda Pharmaceutical Company and Novartis, a number of cancer charities have come together to challenge people to do a task for 20 days in order to raise money. It can be as simple as taking a selfie a day for 20 days, or as complicated as creating 20 works of art, or doing 20 laps in a pool each day -- participants can come up with any challenge they choose.
Participants can register on the 20 for 20 Cancer Challenge’s official site, and invite friends, family, and other people they know to sponsor them.
The money raised will help these charities continue to promote and provide care and research for a health issue that unfortunately will be with us long after the end of the pandemic.
