A recent survey has found that 26% of Millennials plan to increase their prescription medication intake and budget now and after the pandemic. This may seem puzzling; after all, there is, unfortunately, no known effective treatment for COVID-19. But the increase in spending is primarily attributed to prescriptions related to mental health.
The survey shows that this attention to self-care is especially strong among Millennials. For instance, while Baby Boomers will continue to make up the largest market for prescription medications, only 8% planned to increase the amount of medication they’re currently taking.
