For the past fifteen years, Google Maps has been helping us get around. But it can only get us so far.

When you’re traveling in another country, you may be able to read the name of a street or location, but what if you need to ask passersby exactly where it is, or when it’s open? Now, Google Maps will help you with that, too.

In a few weeks’ time, users will see a speaker button next to a street name or location. Clicking it will let them hear the name as it’s pronounced in the local language.

This new feature will be extremely helpful for travelers – not to mention extremely fun and interesting for armchair travelers, too!

Read on to learn more about Google Maps’ new pronunciation feature.
