What will you do if your pet gets sick, injured, or is showing unusual behavior during quarantine or if you’re self-isolating? Some of us may not be able to physically go to our vet’s, or the local animal hospital may be closed.
Luckily, there’s a solution.
Recently, we shared an article about the (understandable) surge in popularity of telemedicine platforms, which let people consult with a doctor or specialist without having to take the risk of going to a medical facility. It turns out that there are several telemedicine platforms for animals, as well.
Better yet, a few, including two created by rescue organization Best Friends Animal Society, are currently being offered to a number of veterinary clinics and animal hospitals for free.
If you’ve got a pet at home, ask your vet (or get in touch with a local animal hospital or Humane Society branch) about animal telemedicine platforms available in your area - and if any are currently free of charge.
Read on to learn more about animal telemedicine platforms in general and about Best Friends Animal Society’s admirable initiative.
