The Berlin public transit authority's stinky plan to make people wear masks

It’s nearly impossible to enforce mask-wearing, let alone ensure that people are wearing masks correctly, in big, moving settings like a train, tram, or bus. But the BVG, Berlin’s transit authority, has found an interesting possible solution: suggesting that riders stop wearing deodorant.

The idea is that with so many smelly armpits around, riders will be more than happy to wear their face masks properly, covering both their mouth and nose.

It’s a joke, of course, but we need more of those in these tough times. And in a way, maybe it’s not a terrible idea….
